Bug Report

Chinese Queens has been through an intensive set of tests before being released. But no software is bug free. If you find any bug or problem usgin Chinese Queens, please report it to me. A typical bug report should include :

• the version of Chinese Queens you are using (you can find it by looking at the Finder information of Chinese Queens, or in 'About Chinese Queens...'),
• the version of MacOS you are using,
• which kind of Macintosh you are using,
• how the bug happens (where do you click etc...),
• what are the effects of the bug.

Registered users that ask to be added on the Chinese Queens release mailing list (always using the mail) will be warned when a new version is available, as soon as a bug (or a set of bugs) is (are) corrected.

Suggestions

Feel free to mail me any suggestion you have to improve this software in any way. Ideas about new game types, new computer strategies, new interface, etc... I'll be pleased to implement them and send you back a new version.

Known defaults

• At the end of a game, the computer sometimes does not take the shorter way to victory, it hesitates and goes back and forth for a couple of times. I'll fix that, but it is quite tricky to modify AI coefficients without perturbing the whole system.
• The computer sometime move marbles that will block all moves to an opponent marble, thus leading to draw games.

Version History

Version 2.1 : Corrected a bug that caused preferences to go wrong on 68k machines. Took the opportunity to save players names in preferences.
Version 2.0 : Features several types of game (simple game and championship), animated moves, improved computer players, HTML help.
Version 1.1 : FAT version of V1.0. Includes hyper-text help.
Version 1.0 : version for (old) 68k Macintosh only.
